This is hard to explain. Roo was the reason Stingray and Dylan went to jail. He made them steal stuff. Sorry, I'm not very good at explaining.

roo was dyl's old mate form colac, he was the reason to why dyl went to juvie
so after he left (juvie) dyl came to erinsborough
started a whole new life and worked things out with stinga
then roo came back, he needed a favour form dyl since he had helped him previously...
however dyl didnt want to help him any longer, ( he had started a much better life and was getting an education)
roo planned to rob scarlet bar and needed dyl to look out for him
dyl confided in paul who advised him to dob roo in...
dyl followed pauls advise and it was bye bye roo

but then

roo came back and blackmailed dyl by kidnapping stinger...
he made dyl do an armed robbery
and then after that he handed dyls gun in to the police.

in the mean time dyl and sky went to tazzy in pauls plane (bishops death)
dyl was lost at sea with connor..both faked their own deaths
stinga was in custody and was willign to take all the blame for dyl
dyl returned

dyl and stinga ended up in jail
where roo also was.
stu stepped in, by going under cover got..the proof of both stinger and dyl being innocent
