What’s been your favourite storyline that Rachel’s been involved in?
I love storylines that challenge me personally. Having to film the death of Rachel's father Alex was incredibly difficult considering how long I'd been on the show and the fact that I had no personal experiences to draw inspiration from. I still don’t know to this day if I’m happy with the work I produced, but I definitely have improved because of it.
Can you remember any scenes that have been particularly fun to shoot?
I loved working with Ben Nicholas (Stingray), he made me laugh, I had my first ever on-screen kiss with him and he’s just made it so much easier for me.
Apart from acting, what are your other passions and ambitions in life?
I love to paint and I love studying philosophy. Whether I'll apply these passions into a career later on in life I’m not sure, but for now they’re hobbies of mine. I would also love to become an activist for the animal rights group WSPA.
Who do you hang out with from the Neighbours cast when you’re not working?
I try to spend as much time as I can with my younger brother on the show, Matthew (Zeke), he keeps me sane at work and is always looking out for me. I hate the fact that in the past two years he’s grown about 3 feet and is now towering over me!
Are you still in touch with any of the Sleepover Club cast?
Eliza Taylor Cotter (Janae) is probably the only one who I’ve spoken to recently and that’s because we work together! But I do try to talk to them every once in a while, just so we know we haven’t forgotten about eachother.
What's the atmosphere like backstage with so many Neighbours cast members departing this year?
Saying goodbye to cast members who you’ve worked alongside with for two years is hard, but it's not something you dwell on, people come and go all the time. It's something you learn to deal with.
Do you miss Dichen Lachman (Katya) and Ben Nicholas (Stingray) now they’ve left?
Dichen is one of the closest friends I’ve ever made and I miss her terribly, but we still keep in contact. I miss Ben’s mucking about on set, he always made me smile.
Have you had any memorable fan mail or encounters with fans?
I once had flowers sent to my house which was a tad frightening!
Is it true you might be joining a new girl-group?
There’s nothing official yet, but it is a possibility.
Is a music career something you've always hoped to get into?
It wasn’t my intention to fall into one, but I’m definitely not opposed to it!
What sort of music would you be performing?
I suppose a range of pop music.
Are you worried about finding time for a music career alongside your work on Neighbours?
Juggling two jobs at once may prove difficult, but I love being busy, I can’t stand sitting around doing nothing!
How long do you plan to stay on Neighbours for?
I haven’t given myself a set date - as of yet I'm still just seeing where it all takes me.
Which other actors would you like to work with?
I would love to work alongside Paul Newman one day, he’s so iconic. And maybe Tea Leoni, she just has beautiful comic presence.
If you could join the cast of any TV show, which would you choose?
Arrested Development, I can find no faults with that show, it's well written and well acted, superb through and through.
