Stingray sat down outside the General Store and watched people pass by. He started to undo the past. He thought about how happy he was when Rachel and him finally got together. She was and still is the love of his life. He knew they could never get back together but that didn’t stop him loving her. Stingray thought about how sad he was when he found out he might not be able to have kids and how he felt like he had been given a second chance when he was told that Sky’s baby was his. He realised that his family have always been there for him even when he has been in the wrong. He felt privileged to be part of such a close family. A family who always look out for each other and stand by each other. A family who always try there best to forgive each other no matter what they have done. Stingray knew that he needed to give up the drink but he couldn’t bring himself to do it. He had been through so much pain and the drink was the only thing that made the pain go away. When he found out that he wasn’t Kerry’s dad after all, he felt like it was the end of the world. He had nothing. Worst of all he didn’t have Rachel. His family said they would forgive him but only if he gave up the alcohol. He really wanted to give it up but wasn’t sure if he could handle it. Stingray was brought back to reality when his mobile started to vibrate and then ring in is pocket. He answered his phone and then suddenly stood up with a troubled look on his face. To be continued

Stingray ended the phone call. The person wanted to meet him in an hour. He didn’t know what to do. He didn’t want him or the rest of his family to get hurt again. Stingray thought about the last time the person hurt them. They had only just got over it. Stingray finally decided that he had to meet him. He wanted to know why he left them? Why he is back? He needed answers.
On his way there he stopped for a moment and listened to the traffic go past. Just for a minute he thought about how life could have been different if the person had never left. He way never of had an alcohol problem. He could have still been with Rachel. Dylan and Sky might have got back together. He may still of been able to have children. In that minute he realised how much he hated him, how much trouble he had caused. All Stingray wanted to do was make him feel guilty and hurt him, a lot.
Stingrays walked to the middle of know where so no one would see them. When he arrived at the spot where they were going to meet he saw him standing there with his back towards him. Two seconds later he turned around and smiled at Stingray and said “Hi son!”

They both stood staring at each other, not knowing what to say or do. The silence was finally broken after several moments. Kim walked to a near-by bench and sat down. He signalled for Stingray to join him. When Stingray had sat down Kim began to go on about how sorry he was but all Stingray wanted was the answers to his forever growing amount of questions. Kim continued to go on about how he was sorry and didn’t mean to hurt anyone but Stingray had heard it all before and enough was enough. Stingray blurted out saying in an almost tearful yet fed-up voice, “Why!? Why did you leave!?” Kim’s face went blank. He didn’t know what to say. How could he justify what he had done? It wasn’t like it was the first time he has ran away. He always ran away, if anything bad happened the one thing Stingray could count on was that his dad would end up leaving. After about 10 minutes of silence Kim started to talk. He explained that when he was at the altar and he saw the police all he wanted to do was stay but instead his body took control and he ended up running away, again. It was like a reflex. Kim went back in his mind to several days after he had left. He almost came back but he couldn’t bring himself to do it. The police would have arrested him for sure. There was no way he could get himself out of this one. Instead of coming back he decided to head up north and earn some money to send back to his family that he had abandoned. There was no turning back now. Kim continued filling Stingray in on where he went and what happened while he was away but he left out one thing. The most important thing. The one thing Stingray really wanted and needed to know. That thing was: Why he was back. To be continued
