From what I have read Carmella sold the baby for money and Teresa has gone off the rails. I might be wrong but that's what I have read.

carmella sold treasa baby for maddies ear operation..(connors daughter..) it was at the time of when serena and connor were going out...carmeela said she would get the money for connor...at the same time..her cousin, being only 17 got pregnant, and through quick thinking said she didnt want the baby...
instead of carmella advising and helping teresa she sold the baby to a family wanting a baby, and split the profit, gave half to her cousin and the other half to connor!
