Neighbours is set to undergo a radical makeover in 2007, with several actors making way for new blood, in a bid to boost dwindling audiences Down Under. Nell Feeney (Janelle) and Sianoa Smit-McPhee (Bree) are confirmed to be departing, while new arrival Adelaide Kent – who stars as Lolly Carpenter and is yet to be seen on UK screens – has also been told her contract will not be renewed. Insiders say that at least two other regular cast members have been given their marching orders, and with the rest of the Timmins clan gone, could Janae – played by Eliza Taylor- Cotter – be heading for the exit door, too?
“ Neighbours often attracts only half the audience of Home and Away, so a drastic change is needed to spruce things up,” says our Australian source. “ It’s yet to be decided how the characters will leave, but there are plans for a big event…”
