Reunited!
There are grave fears for the welfare of Sky Mangel's newborn daughter, Kerry, this week, following her disappearance during the recent hospital fire. However, there’s relief all round when the baby is later returned safe and well. But it’s an unlikely hero who saves the day - none other than Sky’s love rival, Elle Robinson…
“Everyone suspects that unhinged Teresa has taken Kerry,” shares 21-year-old Pippa Black, who plays Elle. “Her cousin, Carmella, reports this to the police, and they try to track Teresa down. She’s finally found, and is pushing a pram around – but there’s no baby inside”
Later, Elle is shocked to discover the real culprit is someone much closer to home.
“It turns out that her boyfriend, Dylan – who is Sky’s ex – decided to take Kerry for her own well-being,” Pippa reveals. “Since Dylan is supposed to be attending a hoteliers’ convention, he had the perfect hiding place, tucking her away in his hotel room. As Elle’s only just got back together with Dylan, this is really hard for her to deal with.”
Despite a scan during Sky’s pregnancy suggesting Dylan’s brother, Stingray, was the father, Dylan is still convinced he could be the baby’s dad.
“ Dylan explains his belief that Kerry is his daughter, but Elle thinks he’s crazy,” says Pippa. “She insists that what he’s done is wrong, and tells him to return Kerry to her mum straight away.”
When Dylan refuses, Elle is forced to take matters into her own hands – and decides to kidnap the tot herself!
“While Dylan is busy moving her car, Elle hops into his and drives off with Kerry on the back seat,” explains Pippa. “It’s a fantastic scene – Elle tosses her own keys out of the window as she’s speeding away and says, ‘You drive my car, I’ll meet you later!’. Dylan is left stunned.”
While Pippa tells us that Elle succeeds in returning Kerry to a hugely relieved Sky, she remains tight-lipped about the future for her character’s relationship with Dylan…
“It’s a sad situation, as Dylan has broken Elle’s heart once before and now she’s gone back for more,” sighs the actress. “It’s actually something that you see quite often with girls, they lose their self-respect. With Elle, though, it probably makes sense. The only strong female influence she’s really had is that of Izzy Hoyland – and she certainly didn’t set a good example!”
Who's the daddy?
When Sky learns it was Dylan who kidnapped Kerry, she offers not to report the ex-con to the police if he stops claiming to be the baby’s father. Dylan is adamant, however, that a DNA test will prove he is. And when Karl later reveals that there’s a small chance Dylan could be right, Sky agrees to a paternity test. But what will the result be?
